Once upon a time, a certain person asked me to get Hayate no Gotoku. Well…he basically said a bunch of rude words and gestured them towards me at the odd scene of me not possessing Hayate no Gotoku (henceforth known as HnG).

So I got it…HAPPY NOW FAIRY YOU ASSHOLE?!

Anyway, HnG is a comedy about a boy (Hayate) who basically lives a life of hardship because his parents are borderline retarded and hurl themselves into debt to chase their “dreams”. Hayate ends up being sold out to some gangs as payment of debt but is saved by a very rich girl (Nagi)…who he saved in a previous episode and stuff…Just watch it OK?!

Right…so…Hayate is indebted to Nagi now as she paid off his debt to the gangsters, so Hayate is recruited as the Sanzenin family butler.

Apparently the Sanzenin butlers are famous for their strength, endurance and speed…which sounds ridiculous until you put in perspective that this is a comedy aimed at Otaku audiences.

So we follow the daily life of Hayate while he plagued with the worst luck known to man, he has an innocent charm about him and doesn’t realise it and thus many girls (including Nagi) are after him for tasty delishuz wuv wuv…not surprisingly Hayate is too daft to realise it and it all goes chaotically wrong and makes for amusing spectacles.

What I absolutely love about this anime so far is that it seems each episode is a filler episode yet when you least expect it, the story will reference a previous episode which builds upon the current episodes story…just to fuddle with your mind. It does it so well though that it seems to be completely seamless, you cant imagine how any particular episode could be tied to a previous one…but then you remember that hole in episode X which is suddenly filled in with episode Y.

Its fucking great!
